church should be fun

People who go to church and think it's boring either are not in the right place, or have the wrong attitude when going. I had so much fun today. The church I went to today had a guest speaker who was a missionary. He was almost 70 yrs old and he was hilarious. He was in your face with a challenge at one point and making you laugh about the old traditional customs we have all been apart of seconds later. God is not boring, He made us in his image. So I guess if you think God is boring then so are you. Ouch! Church is what you make of it. You can be the one who gets there late and leaves early just so you can say you went. Maybe your the kind that goes and just sits on the pew and is not involved. Getting involved in church is the fun part. God is relational, if you are unable to have relations inside the church it will be hard for you to have relations with the creator of mankind. For all you who think church is boring, here are a few tips:
  • Get involved
  • Meet new friends
  • Make sure you are reading the Word of God daily and talking with Him (prayer)
  • Ask God to help you see things through His eyes
  • Prepare your heart before going to church by asking God to meet you there.
Church is not where you go on Sundays. Church is you taking Jesus everywhere you go. You are the church. So if you think church is boring, guess what, then so are you.
Love ya all.

Feeling Old in Today's Generation

Today, at Pastor's Wives Retreat, I entered the internet world. I have no children or responsibilities to distract me from learning my way around the facebook and blogger society. I have spent all afternoon setting things up. Some thoughts:

  • this takes time
  • I feel old
  • what happened to the telephone
  • this may be my only post because I won't remember it tomorrow
But I do want to continue this because I have a story to tell. My husband and I are new church planters. This blog will inform you of our journey.

Welcome to Jill's Journey.
